Marius Carboni
Head of Press and Marketing
Marius Carboni is a former head of press & promotion at Decca Records and EMI.
Since 1995 he has run his own press and marketing consultancy Carboni Media.
His work at Decca and EMI involved him in the marketing and promotion of projects with such international musicians as Nigel Kennedy, Bernard Haitink, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Placido Domingo and Dame Janet Baker.
In 2002 Marius Carboni managed a year-long project with Warner Classics as their International Marketing and Artist Relations Manager, planning the marketing of strategic projects for a newly restructured international Classical department.
Carboni Media’s clients over the years have included work for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Radio 3, the planning and over-seeing of the BBC Proms 2001 launch, the out-reach organisation Live Music Now, the Masterprize Composition Prize, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Society, Warner International and the European and USA marketing and PR for the Salvi Foundation and Victor Salvi Company.
Recent projects include the literary works and recording material of Robert Craft, former personal assistant to Igor Stravinsky, Opera UK, the Cartagena International Music Festival in Colombia, the 2010 London Festival of Bulgarian Culture, the marketing of the Keyboard Charitable Trust and the Orpheus & Bacchus Music Festival in France.
Marius Carboni is also Senior Lecturer in music business and Course Leader for the Professional and Industrial Context module at the University of Hertfordshire.
