Nell Halford
Engineer
Nell has a 1st Class Honours, BSc degree, in Music Technology from the University of Hertfordshire. Nell has worked with UH Recordings in various roles, but predominantly as an assistant recording engineer.
In addition to engineering, Nell writes and produces electronic music and is the lead singer of a funk-pop band. She has also conducted music technology workshops and tutorials focussing on specific audio software and recording/editing techniques, with secondary and sixth form pupils (Summer School and Outreach Projects), PGCE Music students (Herts) and MPhil Music students (Cambridge) respectively.
Since graduating, Nell has worked for the Faculty of Music at the University of Cambridge, helping to run its purpose built music venue, West Road Concert Hall. In this capacity, she has made it possible for two UHR albums to be recorded at this venue.
She has worked on concerts, recordings, events and broadcasts, including for BBC Radio 3 & 4 and BBC 1, Royal Television Society, Radio Academy, Dr. John Hopkins, Michael Nymann, Cambridge Music Festival, and Microsoft Research.
